Tamborine Mountain Sport & Recreation Centre plan

Stage 1 of the Tamborine Mountain Sports Centre includes three playing fields, two Netball courts and a Croquet/Gateball green, plus a clubhouse, spectator facilities and parking for 249 cars and five buses. The fields are multipurpose. For example, they will be used for football (Soccer, Rugby League/Rugby Union and AFL) during the Winter season (1 April to 30 September) and for Cricket during the Summer season (1 October to 31 March).

Two of the rectangular football fields are full size to international standard and turfed with C1 couch and will be fully lit to allow night games. The main oval is both a full-sized first class Cricket ground and a full-sized AFL ground. It too is turfed with C1 couch and includes a 5-wicket professionally constructed turf centre wicket block and six turf practice wickets. However, full lighting for that ground will not be available until Stage 2 of the project, although the practice wicket area and approximately one third of the oval will be lit to allow night time training.
